Ode to Heirlooms

I really believe that you use all of your senses when you eat. I believe that see is just as important as taste. That explains why I'm loving all of the colorful produce available right now. Have I mentioned that I have a slight obsession affinity for heirloom tomatoes? Since summer is on its way out, I thought I would post all of the heirloom inspiration I've had this summer. If you'd like me to post a recipe for one of them, please post a comment and let me know!

Everything-but-the-kitchen-sink pasta with shrimp

Did I mention I also have a thing for avocado+tomatoes? Don't get me started.

Not-so-fried heirloom tomatoes {with farmer's market okra-cue mouth-watering now!}

What are your favorite recipes right now? I'm sad to say so-long to this beauty of a vegetable {or actually a fruit, right?} It's just a matter of time before I break out the butternut squash and pumpkin fun! Colorful is seasonless. Oh, and speaking of can't-get-enough goodness, I've got a kale chip recipe coming soon!

I can't wait to hear what you're loving and creating in the kitchen right now!
